I need help with a good diet plan?

What foods would you recommend buying? I know fruit and veggies but those can get pretty expensive and I don’t want to eat them all day. Like in the morning, what type of cereal should I eat and how many meals/calories should I take in each meal.
And what type of cardio exercises? I have Dance Dance Revolution 3, a treadmill, a pool, and a bike with a lot of country roads. How long should I exercise each day?

    My girlfriend tried quite a number of fad diets but none of them worked until she quit shoving copious amounts of cheese doodles, cheese fries, macaroni and cheese and ice cream into her fat face.
